Just because it's in bold colours, sexy font or comes with fireworks doesn't mean it's accurate or useful.
There is an assumed expectation that if someone has bothered to polish a turd in illustrator and chuck it on the web then it must be important, that's not true.
Think twice before clicking 'share' and sending something viral. Is it coming from a trustworthy place? I know there's a tendency not to provide particularly detailed sources on an infographic (as one might have done in a report or journal) but it is usually possible to judge whether it adds anything to the world.
There's no infographic police that you can call but there are sites devoted to naming and shaming. Here's a few:
